PRODUCT FAQs
How does Cuddledown ensure the quality of their products?
- All of Cuddledown’s manufactured products and most of our fine linens are tested for harmful substances and certified to meet the strict global safety criteria of the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.
- 99% of our down is certified to the Responsible Down Standard, the exception being eiderdown. The Responsible Down Standard describes and independently certifies animal welfare practices in down and feather production and tracks the certified down and feathers from farm to final product. To learn more about the RDS, please visit: https://textileexchange.org/standards/responsible-down
What is thread count?
- Simply put, thread count is the number of threads in a square inch of fabric. Higher thread count means a tighter weave, and doesn't necessarily equate to higher quality. Other factors, such as the thread weight and manufacturing technique should also be considered when selecting bedding. For more information, check out our Bedding Guide.
Could you provide me with a product catalog or look book?
- Yes – you can access our online Hospitality Look Book here. Reach out to our team to receive a copy of Cuddledown’s catalog.
Can I receive a sample before placing a bulk order? Does Cuddledown offer free product swatches?
- We offer free swatches, and can also send samples in some cases. Reach out to our team here.
Does Cuddledown offer eco-friendly or sustainable bedding options?
- Yes – we offer a number of organic bedding options, woven using sustainably grown 100% organic cotton. We continuously work on expanding this category.
Are Cuddledown comforters constructed with baffle boxes or are they sewn through?
- Fabric baffles are sewn in our Oversized Queen and Oversized King sizes. These fabric baffles keep the top and bottom fabrics from touching. All other comforters have sewn-through box stitching for evenly distributed fill.
What is the difference between a comforter/duvet cover and a Coverlet?
- A comforter cover (also known as a duvet cover) is a protective and decorative cover designed to encase a comforter/duvet. A coverlet is a stylish top layer to complete a bed.
How do your comforter/duvet covers close?
- Our comforter covers have a hidden button closure as well as interior corner ties. To keep the comforter and duvet cover secure, simply tie the corner ties to the fabric loops that are sewn onto each comforter.
How is the down alternative fill different from down in terms of feel and breathability?
- Our down alternative fill is manufactured to have the look and feel of lofty down, with fibers that cluster like 500 Fill Power Down. Down alternative fill pillows tend to provide more support and stability than down fill pillows, which are softer. For more information, please view our Bedding Glossary of Terms.
